OPTIMATION OL2109A Digital Output Module

Module Feature

OPTIMATION OL2109A belongs to OptiLogic series 8-channel DC sinking transistor digital output module. Each channel supports 5~40VDC field load, rated 300mA sinking current per point. Built-in surge and flyback diode protection for inductive loads such as solenoid valves. Removable screw terminal block, individual LED status indicator for each channel. Standard OptiLogic form factor, pluggable into OL4228 and other OptiLogic RTU racks. Widely used for driving chemical valves, solenoids and indicator lights in semiconductor wet bench and chemical delivery control systems.

Working principle: RTU backplane receives command from host controller, switch transistor turns on/off to sink current of field load. Flyback diode absorbs inductive surge from solenoid coil to protect internal circuit. Onboard components: 8 power sinking transistors, flyback surge protection diodes, drive logic PCB, removable terminal block, backplane edge connector, front panel channel LED indicators

Function

OL2109A digital output module manufactured by OPTIMATION. It outputs discrete switch signal to control solenoid valves and field actuators. Transistor damage or wiring short-circuit will cause channel failure. Supports configurable fail-safe mode when communication lost. It is standard digital output component for wet process fluid control cabinet.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off OptiLogic RTU rack. Insert module into empty rack slot and lock latches. Connect field solenoid/valve wiring to removable terminal block, plug terminal back into module. Test all 8 channels before production startup.

Diagnostic

Channel cannot turn on: Load power missing or transistor burnout. Short-circuit shutdown: Field wiring short triggers protection. No module recognition:Poor backplane contact. Intermittent switching: Loose terminal wiring.
