OPTIMATION OL2208 OptiLogic Digital Input Module

Module Feature

OPTIMATION OL2208 is OptiLogic series 8-channel DC digital input module. Each channel adopts optocoupler galvanic isolation, input voltage range 10~30VDC, supports sourcing or sinking wiring mode (all 8 channels must use same wiring type). Equipped with independent per-channel LED status indicator and removable screw terminal block. Standard OptiLogic form factor, can be hot-plugged into OL4054, OL4058, OL4228 RTU racks. Widely applied for flow switches, limit switches, level sensors and safety interlock signal collection in semiconductor wet bench and chemical delivery control systems.

Working principle: Field 10-30VDC discrete signal passes through optocoupler isolation circuit. Optical isolation separates field side and control backplane bus to eliminate ground loop interference. Digital on/off status is transmitted to RTU mainboard via backplane bus for host controller reading. Function

OL2208 digital input module manufactured by OPTIMATION. It collects on-off discrete signals from field sensors and safety switches. Damaged optocoupler or loose terminal wiring will cause false triggering or missing input signals. It is core digital signal acquisition component for wet process automation control rack.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off OptiLogic RTU rack. Insert module into empty rack slot and lock latches. Wire field sensor cables to removable terminal block, select sourcing/sinking wiring mode. Test all 8 channels before production startup.

Diagnostic

No input detection:Field power missing or optocoupler failure. False trigger:Ground loop interference or unshielded long wiring. Intermittent signal:Loose terminal screw connection. Module not detected:Poor backplane edge connector contact.
