OPTIMATION OL2109 Transistor Output Module

Module Feature

OPTIMATION OL2109 belongs to OptiLogic series 8-channel DC sinking transistor output module. It adopts optocoupler isolation design, NPN open collector sinking output, each channel maximum continuous load current 300mA, peak voltage up to 80VDC. Two internal common groups for field wiring. Each channel has independent front panel LED status indicator, equipped with removable screw terminal block. Standard OptiLogic form factor, hot-plug compatible with OL4054, OL4058, OL4228 RTU racks. Widely used to drive solenoid valves, status LED lamps, small DC relays in semiconductor wet bench and chemical delivery control systems.

Working principle: RTU backplane sends on/off control signal to the module. After optocoupler isolation, NPN transistor turns on to sink current from field DC load. Optical isolation separates field side and control backplane bus, protecting rack internal circuit from field surge interference. Function

OL2109 transistor output module manufactured by OPTIMATION. It switches small DC loads such as solenoids and indicator lights. Surge without flyback diode will damage transistor output. It is digital output component for wet process automation control rack.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off OptiLogic RTU rack. Insert module into empty rack slot and lock latches. Wire field DC loads to removable terminal block, add flyback diode for inductive loads. Test all 8 channels before production startup.

Diagnostic

Output no switching:No control signal or damaged transistor. Channel burnout:Inductive load without flyback diode. Intermittent output:Loose terminal screw connection. Module not detected:Poor backplane edge connector contact.
