Rolls-Royce SV2689 Vent Valve Unit

Module Feature

SV2689 is a Davis-type pneumatic vent valve designed for Rolls-Royce RB211 industrial gas turbine packages.

It is constructed with precision machined valve body, spring cartridge, sealing spool and pneumatic pilot interface. It responds to air pressure signals from turbine control system to open or close the vent passage. It maintains stable bleed air pressure within the design range and prevents overpressure of auxiliary cooling circuits. It is widely deployed on RB211-24G and DLE gas turbine skids in power generation and oil & gas compression stations.

Working principle

Pilot air pressure acts on the spool against the preset spring force.

When the monitored circuit pressure exceeds the set threshold, the spool lifts and vents excess air to atmosphere. When pressure falls back to normal range, spring force reseats the spool to stop venting. It provides passive pressure protection for turbine bleed and cooling air loops.

Onboard components

Machined alloy valve body, precision spool assembly, compression spring cartridge, PTFE sealing rings, pneumatic pilot port, mounting flange.

LED indicators

No built-in LED. Valve working state is judged by pressure transmitters and turbine control HMI.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

No embedded electronic self-diagnosis. Health status is verified by periodic pressure response test and visual external leakage inspection.

Programming software

No supporting configuration software.

Installation

Secure the valve to designated manifold or bracket.

Connect pilot air supply and process bleed air line, check sealing and perform pressure response test before turbine start-up.

Interface

Diagnostic

Continuous leakage: Damaged sealing ring or scratched spool surface. Failed to open: Blocked pilot line or spring fatigue. Slow response: Contaminated internal passage.
