System compatibility

SGL2001-0850 belongs to Extreme S-Series S140 class line card family. Compatible with S-Series modular chassis platform, matching S-series supervisor modules and other S140 I/O cards. Supports Extreme certified SFP+ transceivers, DAC and AOC cables. Widely applied in core chassis 10G port expansion and spare replacement for campus and data center core network.

Function

SGL2001-0850 is an 8-port 10G SFP+ I/O line card for Extreme S-Series modular chassis. It provides 8 multi-rate SFP+ interfaces for fiber uplink or server access to expand chassis port density. Hot-swap design allows engineers to replace the module online without cutting power of the whole chassis. It collaborates with chassis supervisor for data forwarding, VLAN segmentation and routing processing. Widely deployed for enterprise campus core and data center modular chassis port expansion spare replacement.

Installation

Follow ESD protection procedure. Insert SGL2001-0850 module into empty chassis slot and fasten locking screws. Hot swap operation can be performed with chassis powered on. Wait for module initialization. Access chassis CLI to verify module online status, check port LEDs and upgrade firmware if version mismatch. Configure port VLAN and routing policy according to site requirements.

Interface

8×SFP+ slots, status LED indicators,high-speed chassis backplane connector for Extreme Networks SGL2001-0850.

Feature

Original Extreme Networks SGL2001-0850 S-Series S140 class line card,8×10G multi-speed SFP+ ports, hot swappable,EOS system compatible. This spare unit is used for S-Series modular chassis port expansion and core network hardware maintenance.

Diagnostic

Module undetected: Confirm module fully seated and locking screws tightened. Port link down: Verify SFP+ transceiver compatibility, fiber cable integrity and connector cleanliness. Firmware incompatibility: Upgrade chassis EOS firmware to minimum required version 8.32.01.0021 or newer. Module fault alarm: Check chassis fan tray working status and ambient operating temperature. Port cannot be enabled: Verify license authorization and slot configuration on chassis supervisor.
