It works with BDX-MM1 management modules, fabric modules, power supplies and fan trays. Compatible with Extreme validated QSFP+ 40G SR4/LR4 transceivers and 40G active optical cables. FunctionBDXA-40G24X provides wire-speed 40G QSFP+ high-density uplink interfaces for BlackDiamond X8 chassis. It supports L2 switching, L3 routing, ACL, QoS, FCoE and DCB. It reports port status, transceiver DDM data, module temperature and power consumption to chassis management module. Used to replace faulty high-density 40G I/O blades for BlackDiamond X8 core chassis overhaul.

InstallationHot-swappable replacement. Insert BDXA-40G24X into empty slot of BlackDiamond X8 chassis. Tighten captive screws. Insert QSFP+ transceivers or AOC cables. Power on chassis, verify module online status on ExtremeXOS. Check port and transceiver DDM readings before putting into production.
