System compatibilityQSFP28 is the 100G transceiver form factor for Extreme Networks VSP7400, VSP8400, X690, X695, X870 series switches. Supports breakout into 4×25G ports. Widely used for leaf-spine data center, high-performance computing and enterprise core network spare replacement.

FunctionQSFP28 converts four 25G electrical lanes to optical signals for 100G Ethernet transmission. It supports hardware breakout to 4 independent 25G channels. It monitors transmit optical power, receive power, module temperature and supply voltage. It triggers alarm for signal loss, over-temperature and module fault. Used to replace 100G optical transceivers in data center fabric networks.

InstallationPower off before installation. Insert QSFP28 transceiver into the switch QSFP28 slot. Connect MPO or LC fiber cables. Verify module recognition on VOSS / ExtremeXOS, check optical power and link status before putting into production.
