Bosch BRS-RAC2-8100A Video Recording Station Unit

Module Feature

BRS-RAC2-8100A is 2U rack recording appliance of Bosch BRS series.

It is preloaded with BRS recording software, supports 8 IP camera input and RAID5 data redundancy. It accepts H.264, MPEG4 and JPEG streams for megapixel camera recording. This EOL unit is widely used for legacy surveillance system spare replacement.

Working principle

The unit receives IP video streams from network cameras via Ethernet.

Video data is stored to internal hard disks, and it supports remote playback, motion search and user permission control. Video can be viewed remotely by BRS Viewer client software.

Onboard components

Industrial motherboard, hard disk array, network card, power supply module, cooling fan, front control panel.

LED indicators

Front LEDs show power, HDD status, network link and fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Continuous monitoring detects RAID degradation, HDD failure, network disconnection and fan fault, local event logs are saved automatically.

Programming software

Bosch BRS Viewer, for live view, playback and system parameter configuration.

Installation

Fix the unit in standard server rack with rack ears.

Connect Ethernet cable and power cord, set camera IP and recording schedule in BRS software, check RAID status after commissioning.
