Allied Telesis AT-MCR12 Media Converter Chassis Unit

Module Feature

AT-MCR12 is a rack mount power distribution chassis manufactured by Allied Telesis. It provides 12 independent slots for MC1x / MC10x series standalone media converters. Built-in AT-PWR4 power supply, optional second hot-swappable power module for redundancy. Each media converter operates independently; individual units can be inserted or removed without powering down the whole chassis. Widely used in wiring closets and industrial automation network cabinets for Ethernet fiber media conversion. This model is discontinued.

Working principle

Internal backplane distributes power to each inserted media converter module. The chassis only supplies power and mechanical mounting; media conversion function is completed by the plug-in media converter. Dual power supply support enables load sharing to improve network uptime.

Installation

Follow strict ESD safety procedure before handling.Mount chassis to 19-inch rack. Install primary and optional redundant power supply. Insert compatible media converter modules into slots and connect network cables.

Diagnostic

No power:power supply failure or power inlet loose. Module not working:no power on slot or faulty media converter. Power alarm:loss of one redundant power feed.
