OPTIMATION OL4228 OptiLogic RTU 

Module Feature

OPTIMATION OL4228 is OptiLogic series 8-slot Remote Terminal Unit base chassis. It supports hot-plug OL series I/O modules, integrated 10BaseT Ethernet communication supporting OptiLogic/UDP and Modbus TCP/IP protocols (difference from OL4058). Internal backplane provides power and high-speed bus communication for all inserted I/O cards. DIN rail metal housing, freely mix digital input, relay output, analog input and serial communication modules. Widely used for semiconductor wet bench and chemical fluid delivery distributed control systems.

Working principle: The backplane supplies power and internal bus to each installed I/O module. It collects field sensor data from I/O cards, transmits data to host controller over Ethernet via Modbus TCP or OptiLogic/UDP, and receives host control commands to drive field actuators. Compatible with all OptiLogic OL I/O modules including OL2208, OL2108, OL2408, OL2205, OL2109A, OL2602; works with OPTIMATION OP / OM series operator panels and Modbus TCP host PLC.

Function

OL4228 RTU base manufactured by OPTIMATION. It is 8-slot distributed I/O rack with native Modbus TCP support. Poor backplane contact or incorrect network IP configuration will cause module offline and signal loss. It is core remote I/O chassis for wet process automation control cabinet.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off OptiLogic RTU rack. Mount chassis on DIN rail. Insert I/O modules into empty slots and lock latches. Wire 8-30VDC power and Ethernet cable. Configure network parameters and test all I/O channels before production startup. Install OL0001 blank filler card for unused slots.

Diagnostic

No Ethernet link:IP address mismatch or cable fault. Module undetected:Poor backplane contact or damaged edge connector. Intermittent I/O signals:Vibration causing loose module seating. Rack power alarm:Power overload or loose power wiring.
