Module Feature

OPTIMATION OL2108 belongs to OptiLogic series 8-channel SPST mechanical relay output module. OL2108RB is the rugged enhanced variant with protective PCB conformal coating for humid chemical cabinets. Each relay provides isolated dry contact switching, resistive load rating 1A per channel at 24VDC /120VAC. Removable screw terminal block, independent LED status indicator for each channel. Standard OptiLogic form factor, pluggable into OL4228, OL4054 and other OptiLogic RTU racks. Widely used to control chemical valves, solenoids, alarm relays for semiconductor wet process and chemical delivery control systems.

Working principle: Host controller sends command through rack backplane bus, module activates corresponding mechanical relay. Relay contact closes or opens to switch external AC/DC field loads. OL2108RB extra coating protects circuit board against moisture and chemical vapor corrosion inside control cabinet. Onboard components: 8 SPST mechanical relays, surge absorption circuit, logic PCB, removable terminal block, backplane edge connector, front panel per-channel LED indicators

Function

OL2108 / OL2108RB relay output module manufactured by OPTIMATION. It provides isolated relay contact outputs to switch field valves and actuators. OL2108RB conformal coating improves reliability under high humidity chemical cabinet environment. Relay contact wear or wiring overload will lead to channel burnout. It is discrete relay output component for wet bench automation control rack.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off OptiLogic RTU rack. Insert module to empty rack slot and lock latches. Wire field load cables to removable terminal block, install terminal back onto module. Test all 8 relay channels before production startup.

Diagnostic

Channel cannot activate:Relay coil damage or backplane poor contact. Intermittent switching:Relay contact oxidation and wear. Module undetected:Bad backplane connector contact. Contact burnout:Overload or inductive surge without protection.
