Function

UVM-3 is self-checking ultraviolet flame scanner manufactured by Fireye. It senses ultraviolet radiation from combustion flame and converts flame flicker signal to electrical signal and transmits to burner control chassis. The integrated self-check circuit continuously tests UV sensor health during operation, to prevent false flame indication caused by UV tube aging or failure. When flame extinguishes, the scanner stops sending flame signal, the burner chassis will initiate safety lockout and cut fuel supply to avoid explosion hazard. Widely deployed for industrial boiler and furnace burner flame monitoring and spare replacement.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Mount UVM-3 on burner sight port, ensure proper optical alignment towards flame. Clean quartz window before commissioning. Run shielded cable between scanner and BurnerLogix UV self-check chassis, strictly follow Fireye wiring schematic. Power on, test scanner self-check function, verify flame signal value during burner light-off.
