Function

UV5-1 is ultraviolet flame scanner manufactured by Fireye. It senses ultraviolet radiation emitted by combustion flame. This is non-self-check model, system will automatically perform scanner fault detection at start and end of every burner cycle. It transmits flame present or flame loss signal to burner controller. When flame failure happens, control system initiates safety shutdown to prevent unburned fuel accumulation and explosion hazards. Widely deployed for gas and oil boiler burner flame monitoring and spare replacement.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before any installation work. Install UV5-1 onto burner sight port using the supplied mounting flange. Aim optical window toward flame zone. Connect detachable cable and wire strictly according to Fireye wiring diagram. Complete power-up test and burner commissioning, verify stable flame signal during normal combustion.
