System compatibilityBDX-MM1 is the primary management and control plane module for Extreme BlackDiamond X8 chassis core switch. Two BDX-MM1 modules can be installed for control plane redundancy. It manages all I/O line cards, fabric modules, power supplies and fan trays inside the chassis. Widely used for large data center core network spare replacement.

FunctionBDX-MM1 executes chassis-level management, system initialization, control plane routing protocol and health monitoring. It collects port status, transceiver DDM, line card temperature, fan speed and PSU health information. It supports hitless active/standby failover. Used to replace faulty management controllers for BlackDiamond X8 core chassis overhaul.
