Module Feature

1MRK002810 is the order base number of ABB Relion RED670 line differential protection IED.

It provides segregated phase differential, distance, overcurrent, breaker failure and restricted earth fault protection. It supports IEC61850, GOOSE, 103 and DNP3 communication, with built-in fault recorder and disturbance record function. It is widely used for high voltage overhead line and underground cable protection in power grid and industrial substation.

Working principle

The relay samples current signals from both ends of protected line via CT.

It compares current vector data to identify internal fault, sends trip command to circuit breaker when differential threshold is exceeded. It records fault waveform, fault type and time stamp for post-fault analysis.

Onboard components

Main processing unit, CT signal input board, Ethernet communication module, LCD touch panel, relay output contacts, DC power supply circuit.

LED indicators

Front LEDs show power status, run state, trip alarm and communication link status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Continuous self-monitoring detects CT circuit break, power anomaly, internal hardware error and communication interruption, alarm messages display on local panel.

Programming software

ABB PCM600, used for protection configuration, setting parameter, disturbance record reading and relay firmware upgrade.

Installation
