Products Description

VMIC VMIVME-7751-76003 Single Board Computer

Module Feature

VMIC VMIVME-7751-76003 is a double-slot 6U VME64 Eurocard single board computer built around Intel Pentium III processor up to 1.26 GHz with 256/512 KB L2 cache and Intel 815E chipset, 133 MHz front side bus. It accepts one SODIMM socket supporting up to 512 MB PC133 SDRAM. Integrated AGP SVGA graphics controller with 4 MB display buffer. Dual independent 10/100 Mbps fast Ethernet controllers for redundant network communication. Up to three PMC mezzanine expansion sites (two support rear P2 I/O) for reflective memory or custom I/O modules. Optional PCI dual-channel Ultra160 SCSI, IDE storage interface supporting hard disk or up to 1 GB boot flash. Equipped with 32 KB nonvolatile SRAM, two 16-bit plus two 32-bit programmable timers, software-selectable hardware watchdog timer, and remote Ethernet boot function. Flash BIOS supports field firmware upgrade. Passive heatsink cooling design, rugged double-height 6U VME construction with shock and vibration resistance, widely used in real-time simulation, industrial process control, turbine safety control and aerospace test systems.

Working principle

The Pentium III processor executes embedded operating system and user application code. PCI-to-VME bridge implements full VME64 master/slave functions supporting A32/A24/D32/D16/MBLT64/BLT32 transfer modes for high-speed data exchange with other VME modules. Triple PMC slots expand board capability with mezzanine cards for extra communication or signal acquisition. Onboard peripherals including dual Ethernet, SVGA video and IDE storage are mapped into CPU address space. Nonvolatile SRAM preserves critical configuration data after power loss. Flash memory stores BIOS firmware for system boot; programmable watchdog timer automatically resets the board when software crash occurs to maintain system reliability. Hardware endian conversion supports seamless data exchange between little-endian and big-endian devices.
