Module Feature

VMIC5 is a professional on-camera supercardioid shotgun condenser microphone developed by VMIC. It adopts supercardioid directional pickup pattern to suppress side and rear ambient noise,focusing sound capture on the subject in front. Built-in 2000 mAh rechargeable lithium battery delivers up to 150 hours continuous working time. Two gain modes (0 dB / +10 dB) and 150 Hz low-cut filter are selectable via physical switch to reduce wind and low-frequency rumble noise. Equipped with integrated shock mount to isolate mechanical vibration noise from camera body. 3.5 mm TRS output port for camera connection and independent headphone monitoring jack for real-time audio preview. Built-in BIT self-check circuit verifies battery level and microphone circuit integrity after power-on. Rugged metal housing with windscreen,shock and vibration screened for outdoor shooting environment,widely used in field video interview,documentary recording and portable test system audio capture.

Working principle

Sound wave enters the microphone capsule and converts acoustic signal into analog electrical signal. The onboard preamplifier adjusts gain according to switch setting; low-cut filter attenuates low-frequency noise below 150 Hz. Analog audio signal outputs via 3.5 mm TRS cable to camera or recorder. BIT circuit detects battery voltage and capsule signal status and indicates power status via LED. Shock mount absorbs mechanical vibration to avoid noise coupling.

Installation

Align shock mount with camera hot shoe and tighten locking knob. Install foam windscreen on microphone head. Charge via USB-C before first use. Select gain and low-cut mode according to scene. Connect 3.5 mm TRS cable between microphone and camera audio input. Power on microphone,run BIT battery check before recording.

Diagnostic
