System compatibilityBW168-T is SEW BW-T series braking resistor equipped with built-in thermal switch. Compatible with MOVIDRIVE MDX60B, MDX61B servo drives and MOVITRAC B inverters. Widely used for packaging machinery, medium conveyor and material handling equipment, legacy SEW drive system maintenance and spare replacement.

FunctionThis ceramic core wire-wound braking resistor consumes regenerative energy generated during motor deceleration. When DC bus voltage exceeds threshold, the drive internal brake chopper will activate and release surplus energy through this resistor to avoid DC bus overvoltage fault. The integrated thermal switch provides overtemperature monitoring, thermal signal can be wired to drive digital fault input. Ceramic terminals ensure stable high-voltage connection.

InstallationPower off the drive DC bus before installation. Mount BW168-T vertically inside control cabinet, reserve sufficient space for air cooling. Separate high-voltage braking power cables and low-voltage thermal signal wiring. Connect power ceramic terminals to drive brake port X3 (+R/-R). Wire built-in thermal switch terminals to drive fault input. Test braking response and thermal alarm function after wiring completion.
