Products Description
Sanyo Denki 103H5505-70E1 MUF1-87 Stepping Motor System

Module Feature
Sanyo Denki 103H5505-70E1 MUF1-87 is a complete five-phase hybrid stepping motion system, including 103H5505-70E1 stepping motor and matched MUF1-87 five-phase stepping driver. The motor adopts hybrid magnetic circuit structure, small 0.72° full step angle, high positioning repeatability, low vibration and low running noise. The MUF1-87 driver supports microstep subdivision function, multi-stage current setting and pulse command input. Built-in multi-protection functions including overcurrent and overheat protection. Widely used for precision positioning axes in semiconductor automation, inspection equipment and small automation machinery.
Working principle
The MUF1-87 stepping driver receives pulse and direction command signals from upper controller, and outputs sequential multi-phase current to motor windings. Alternating magnetic field drives the hybrid rotor to rotate at fixed step angle according to pulse quantity, realizing open-loop position control. The driver supports microstep operation to reduce vibration. When overcurrent or overtemperature fault is detected, the driver will cut off output to protect motor winding.
Onboard components
Motor: Hybrid rotor, multi-phase stator winding, front and rear bearing set, motor housing, shaft oil seal, multi-phase power terminal connector. Driver MUF1-87: Main control board, power switching circuit, pulse signal processing circuit, status LED indicators, fault detection circuit, power and motor terminal block.
LED indicators
Driver MUF1-87 has built-in LED indicators for power status, servo ready and fault code display. The motor has no onboard LED indicators.
Hardware self-diagnosis
Visual inspection of motor housing, shaft, connectors and driver housing; winding continuity and insulation resistance test; wiring verification between motor and MUF1-87 driver; check driver LED alarm codes; inspect motor bearing abnormal noise.
Programming software
Sanyo Denki SANMOTION setup software for driver parameter configuration, microstep setting, current adjustment and fault log reading.

Function
103H5505-70E1 MUF1-87 stepping system manufactured by Sanyo Denki. It converts pulse command signals into mechanical rotary movement, realizing accurate angle and linear positioning for automation axes. Overload, wiring error or winding damage will cause step loss or overheat alarm. It is high precision open-loop power system for semiconductor and industrial automation equipment.
Installation
Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off all power supply completely. Fix motor via flange mounting, align coupling properly to avoid radial and axial overload. Mount MUF1-87 driver on cabinet panel and reserve ventilation space. Connect multi-phase motor cable and control signal cable correctly. Set micro-step and current parameters via SANMOTION software, perform trial run and positioning verification before formal operation.
Interface
Motor multi-phase winding terminal, MUF1-87 DC24V power input terminal, motor power output terminal, pulse/direction command terminal, alarm output terminal of 103H5505-70E1 MUF1-87.
Diagnostic
Motor no rotation: No DC power supply, wrong phase wiring or driver hardware fault. Step loss: Insufficient torque, mechanical jam or excessive acceleration. Abnormal noise: Phase wiring error, bearing wear or resonance. Overheat alarm: Over current setting, continuous heavy load operation. Driver alarm: Short circuit, wiring error or internal power component damage.
