Pelco IPSXME136-7X Explosion Proof PTZ Camera Unit

Module Feature

IPSXME136-7X belongs to Pelco ExSite IP explosion-proof integrated PTZ positioning system. The whole unit adopts electropolished 316L stainless steel enclosure, suitable for Class I Division 1 explosive hazardous locations. It integrates 36x optical zoom day/night camera module, auto iris lens and removable IR cut filter, supporting color and monochrome mode switching. Built-in windshield wiper cleans the front window for outdoor marine and heavy dust environments. Dual video streams are supported, compression formats include H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG. It has motion detection, privacy masking and multi-protocol network control functions. It can be installed upright or inverted. Widely deployed on refineries, gas plants, offshore platforms and chemical process areas.

Working principle

Image sensor captures scene light signal, and the built-in DSP processes video and encodes it into network stream for transmission via Ethernet port. PTZ driver receives commands from VMS to realize pan, tilt and zoom movement. Wiper control circuit triggers wiper action by remote command. All electronic components are sealed inside explosion-proof housing to prevent internal ignition from spreading to external flammable gas atmosphere.

LED indicators

Internal PCB LED for power and network activity; no external visible indicator on explosion-proof housing.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Self-check covers network link loss, PTZ drive overcurrent, wiper motor fault, camera signal loss and internal over-temperature. Fault messages are uploaded to video management system.

Programming software

Pelco DX, Endura or third-party ONVIF VMS software for live view, PTZ control, recording and parameter setup.

Installation

Install matched explosion-proof wall bracket. Route cable through certified explosion-proof cable gland. Wire AC power and Ethernet cable into junction compartment. Set network IP, stream profile and PTZ preset via VMS. Test wiper function and verify explosion seal integrity after maintenance.

Diagnostic

No video stream: Power loss, Ethernet cable fault or encoder module failure. PTZ no movement: Drive overload, limit trigger or command protocol mismatch. Image blurry: Window dirty, wiper failure or lens contamination. Night mode abnormal: IR cut filter stuck.
