Products Description
Fisher 4160 Pneumatic Valve Positioner

Technical Specifications
Model:4160 Brand:Fisher Product Type: Force balance pneumatic valve positioner
Module Feature
Fisher 4160 is force-balance pneumatic valve positioner. It receives 3~15psi pneumatic setpoint signal and adjusts output air pressure to drive linear or rotary actuator. It supports single-acting / double-acting configuration, zero and span adjustment, direct/reverse action conversion. Compact and robust structure, suitable for vibration environment. Widely used in oil, gas, chemical and power plant globe and rotary control valves.
Working principle: Pneumatic force balance closed-loop feedback control Onboard components: Nozzle-flapper assembly, pneumatic relay, feedback spring, feedback cam, pressure gauge ports, mounting bracket, gaskets

System compatibility
Compatible with Fisher 657/658 linear diaphragm actuators and rotary actuators, works with globe/rotary control valves for pneumatic control loop.
Function
4160 is pneumatic positioner manufactured by Fisher. It compares pneumatic setpoint signal with real valve travel position and continuously adjusts output air pressure to eliminate position error. It improves valve positioning accuracy, reduces hysteresis and stabilizes valve stroke under fluid disturbance. It can be switched direct/reverse action to meet different control loop requirements. It is widely used for traditional pneumatic modulating control valves.
Installation
Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off instrument air supply. Mount positioner bracket on actuator, connect instrument air tubing and 3-15psi signal line. Perform zero/span calibration and full stroke test. Restore air supply and verify valve movement and air tightness.
Interface
1/4"NPT pneumatic supply and signal ports, gauge tapping ports, actuator mounting bracket, no LED indicators on 4160.
Diagnostic
Valve no movement: Loss of supply air or blocked signal tubing. Poor positioning repeatability: Worn nozzle-flapper or spring fatigue. Valve oscillation: Improper feedback cam setting or relay malfunction. Air leakage: Damaged gasket or loose threaded fitting.
