Function

VIM-4X10GE is pluggable high-speed uplink expansion module manufactured by Extreme Networks. It adds four 10G SFP+ ports to the host switch for fiber uplink, inter-switch stacking or server connection. Hot swap design allows online replacement without network shutdown. All switching, routing and security functions are managed via the main switch ExtremeXOS system. It provides flexible port expansion options when upgrading network bandwidth. Widely deployed for campus, factory and data center edge network spare replacement.

Installation

Follow ESD protection procedure. Remove blank cover plate of switch VIM slot. Insert VIM-4X10GE module fully and tighten fixing screws. Insert SFP+ transceiver or DAC cable. Power on and verify module detection on ExtremeXOS console, configure port VLAN, routing and QoS parameters. Check port link status after configuration.
