All configuration and control plane functions run on the upstream aggregation switch. It supports L2 switching, VLAN, QoS, ACL and port security. It reports port status, PoE power consumption, temperature and fan status to the parent switch. Used to replace faulty PoE+ port extenders for enterprise extended edge network overhaul.

InstallationPower off before rack mounting. Install into 19-inch rack. Connect AC power. Connect SFP+ uplink fiber/cable to aggregation switch. Connect PoE RJ45 cables to APs, phones or cameras. Power on, the extender automatically discovers parent switch and downloads configuration. Verify PoE allocation and port online status before putting into production.
