EC8404001-E6 is 8424XS interface module belonging to VSP8400 series. Compatible with VSP8404 / VSP8404C 4-slot chassis. Works alongside other VSP8400 series ESM modules, such as 8408QQ,8424GS. Compatible with Extreme certified SFP+ optical modules, direct attach copper and active optical cables.

Function

EC8404001-E6 is high-density 1/10G I/O card for VSP8404 modular switch chassis. It provides 24 SFP+ interfaces for connecting servers, storage or access switches. Hot-swappable design allows replacement without powering down the whole chassis, minimizing data center downtime. Supports EVPN-VXLAN overlay virtual network, full L2/L3 routing functions and hardware QoS for traffic scheduling. Widely used in medium data center leaf layer and enterprise core network port expansion.

InstallationPerform ESD protection. Insert module into empty ESM slot of VSP8404 chassis and tighten captive retaining screws. Install SFP+ transceivers or DAC/AOC cables. Verify module detection via VOSS CLI, configure VLAN, routing and EVPN policy. Check port negotiation status after installation.
