System compatibility10GB-BX80-U is Extreme Networks SFP+ BiDi single fiber optical transceiver, must be paired with 10GB-BX80-D on the far end. Compatible with Extreme Summit X440-G2, X460-G2, X620, X670, VSP series switches with SFP+ slots. Widely used for long-distance campus, metropolitan and WAN fiber uplink, network maintenance and spare replacement.

Function10GB-BX80-U transmits and receives 10G signals over only one single-mode fiber. It uses wavelength division multiplexing, sending 1490nm optical signal and receiving 1550nm signal. It supports DDM to monitor transmit optical power, receive power, module temperature and supply voltage. It triggers alarm for optical signal loss, over-temperature or module hardware fault. It is used to replace faulty BiDi SFP+ modules for long-distance single-fiber 10G links.

InstallationPower off before installation. Insert SFP+ transceiver into the switch SFP+ slot. Connect LC duplex single-mode fiber cable to module port. Pair with 10GB-BX80-D at the opposite end. Verify module identification by switch OS, check optical power and link status before putting into production.
