Baldor VBM3615T Brake Induction Motor Unit

Module Feature

VBM3615T belongs to Baldor VBM series spring-set brake motor. Rated 5HP,1745RPM,208/230/460VAC,NEMA 184TC steel frame,foot mount plus C-face flange. TEFC totally enclosed fan cooled enclosure. Built-in power-off electromagnetic brake,spring applied brake engages automatically when power cuts off,manual release lever for maintenance. NEMA Design B,Class F insulation,continuous duty. This model is discontinued. Widely used on conveyors,material handling equipment and machinery requiring reliable holding brake.

Working principle

Three-phase AC generates rotating magnetic field to drive squirrel-cage rotor. When motor power is cut,spring-set brake engages immediately to lock shaft and hold load. Brake coil energizes together with motor power to release brake during normal running. Shaft fan provides forced air cooling inside TEFC housing.

Steel motor frame,stator winding,squirrel-cage rotor,ball bearings,spring-set electromagnetic brake assembly,manual release lever,cooling fan,fan cover,terminal box,keyed output shaft.

LED indicators

No built-in LED indicators.

Hardware self-diagnosis

Winding insulation resistance test,bearing noise & temperature inspection,brake torque test,visual check of brake friction disc wear and fan damage.

Installation

Follow strict safety procedure before handling.Mount motor to rigid base and align coupling.Connect motor power and brake coil wiring.Verify motor rotation and test brake engage/release function before full load commissioning.

Diagnostic

Motor runs but brake will not release:brake coil missing power or coil burnout. Brake dragging:friction disc wear or incorrect air gap. Abnormal noise:bearing wear or brake mechanical interference. Overheat:overload or brake not fully released.
