System compatibility

XVME-230 belongs to XYCOM XVME series intelligent counter module.

It installs in XYCOM VME chassis and cooperates with XVME series CPU and I/O modules.

Compatible with turbine,compressor and legacy DCS control systems via VME bus.

Commonly used for power plant,oil & gas,petrochemical old equipment maintenance and spare replacement.

Function

High-performance intelligent pulse and encoder signal processing for VME control rack.

16 independent counting channels,support quadrature encoder position and speed acquisition.

Realize frequency,period and pulse width measurement for flow meter and tachometer signals.

Built-in stepper motor control function,duty cycle adjustment and pulse generation.

Onboard 68000 processor independently executes timing and counting tasks,reduce host CPU load.

Support periodic interrupt and one-shot output,firmware selectable function modes.

Transmit measurement data and motion status to main CPU over VME backplane.

Onboard self-test for counter circuit,onboard CPU,data bus and VME bus interface fault inspection.

Installation

Power off VME chassis.

Insert XVME-230 card into empty VME slot,tighten front panel fixing screw.

Set base address and interrupt level via board jumpers.

Connect encoder and pulse signal wiring to front panel 50pin ribbon connector.

Power on chassis,run hardware self-test.

VME CPU scans bus,identifies the board and starts counter measurement and motion control.

Interface

VME P1 backplane connector,50pin ribbon cable terminal,LED indicators:PASS,FAULT.

Feature

Single height VME intelligent counter board,XYCOM XVME series.

Onboard 10MHz 68000 processor,offload time-critical counting tasks from host CPU.

16 independent channels,max 5MHz counting rate,support multiple measurement and output modes.

Suitable for quadrature encoders,turbine flow meters and stepper motor drive applications.

Flexible firmware configuration for different working modes.

VME slave interface,easy plug-in installation.

Discontinued obsolete VME module,supply only for old production system spare replacement.

Vibration resistant PCB design,suitable for turbine control cabinet.

Diagnostic

FAULT LED on:counter circuit or onboard processor failure,VME bus communication fault;

Cannot be identified by CPU:check VME backplane contact and base address jumper setting;

Position reading drift:check encoder A/B phase wiring,shield grounding and signal amplitude;

Count missing:confirm input pulse frequency does not exceed 5MHz limit.

Product Brief

XYCOM XVME-230 is legacy VMEbus intelligent counter module.

It provides multi-channel high-speed pulse counting,encoder position measurement and stepper motor control for VME rack,widely used as spare part for turbine and compressor control,petrochemical and power plant old DCS renovation.
