WEG 132/160 IEC Motor Frame Adapter Base Unit

Module Feature

132/160 is WEG cast iron motor transition adapter base. It is designed for IEC standard motor frame conversion. It converts the mounting hole spacing of IEC 132 frame motor to the installation dimension of IEC 160 frame. When replacing old 160 frame motor with smaller 132 frame motor, it can directly install on the original equipment foundation without re-drilling or modifying the base. High rigidity cast iron structure, anti-vibration, suitable for fans, pumps, conveyors and other low voltage asynchronous motor retrofit scenarios.

Working principle

The bottom hole position matches the 160 frame mounting base, and the upper surface hole layout matches 132 frame motor feet. It acts as mechanical transition spacer, transfers motor torque and vibration load to the original foundation, ensures coaxiality between motor shaft and driven equipment.

Installation

Place adapter on original 160 frame base, fasten bottom bolts. Install IEC132 motor on the upper surface of adapter. Adjust shim to align shaft concentricity, then lock all mounting bolts.

Interface

Bottom mounting holes for IEC160 frame, upper mounting holes for IEC132 motor.

Diagnostic

Vibration abnormally large:Adapter flatness out of tolerance, loose bolts or shaft misalignment. Thread slipping:Mounting hole thread damaged, need repair or replace adapter.
