System compatibilityBW047-004 is SEW BW series external wire-wound braking resistor. Compatible with MOVIDRIVE MD60A, MDX61B servo drives, MOVITRAC B inverters and BTS brake chopper modules. Suitable for tiny conveyor, small packaging machinery, legacy SEW low-power drive system maintenance and spare replacement.

FunctionThis compact wire-wound braking resistor consumes regenerative energy generated by motor deceleration. When DC bus voltage rises, the brake chopper activates and releases excess energy through this resistor to suppress overvoltage fault. Terminal block for DC bus wiring, requires external thermal protection relay.

InstallationPower off the drive DC bus before installation. Mount BW047-004 vertically inside control cabinet, keep enough air circulation. Separate high voltage braking cables and low voltage control wiring. Connect resistor terminals to brake chopper or drive brake terminals. Equip external thermal protection relay for overheat monitoring. Test braking function after wiring.
