System compatibilityBW018-035 is SEW BW series external braking resistor. Compatible with MOVIDRIVE MD60A, MDX61B servo drives, MOVITRAC B inverters and BTS brake chopper modules. Widely used for conveyor, lifting and packaging machinery, used for legacy SEW drive system maintenance and spare replacement.

FunctionThis high-power wire-wound braking resistor consumes regenerative energy generated by motor deceleration. When DC bus voltage rises, the brake chopper activates and releases excess energy through this resistor to suppress overvoltage fault. Built-in thermal contact for overtemperature alarm. Terminal block for DC bus wiring.

InstallationPower off the drive DC bus before installation. Mount BW018-035 vertically in cabinet or outside enclosure, keep sufficient air circulation. Separate high voltage braking cables and low voltage control wiring. Connect resistor terminals to brake chopper or drive brake terminals. Wire thermal contact signal to drive fault input. Test braking function after wiring.
