System compatibility

This fiber transceiver hardware belongs to ICS TRIPLEX Trusted SIS safety instrumented system. It extends the Trusted expander bus over long-distance single-mode fiber,connecting main controller chassis and remote T8314 expander rack. It eliminates electromagnetic interference on long copper cables,widely deployed in oil & gas,petrochemical and chemical plants for ESD emergency shutdown and fire & gas safety protection.

Function

T8314C serves as high integrity fiber optical conversion unit of Trusted TMR SIS. It converts differential copper expander bus electrical signals into optical signals for long-distance transmission and converts received optical signals back to electrical signals. It continuously monitors fiber link health and signal integrity. Three independent TMR optical channels ensure safety function remains available if one channel fails.

Installation

Mount T8314C on standard DIN rail. Use TC-302 or TC-303 cable to connect between expander interface and T8314C transceiver. Plug single-mode fiber cable into LC optical port. Check fiber link status and fault alarms via Trusted Workbench.
