Products Description
Fisher 3582G Pneumatic Valve Positioner

Technical Specifications
Model:3582G Brand:Fisher Product Type: Single acting force balance pneumatic valve positioner
Module Feature
Fisher 3582G is force-balance pneumatic positioner for sliding-stem diaphragm actuated control valves. It accepts pneumatic input signal and modulates supply air pressure sent to actuator, keeps valve stem position proportional to input signal. Zero and span are adjustable, supports split range application. It can switch between direct and reverse action on site. Internal bleed air protects internal parts from dust and moisture. Widely used in oil, gas, chemical and power plant control valve pneumatic loops.
Working principle: Force balance between feedback lever and nozzle-flapper, amplifies small pneumatic signal to drive actuator Onboard components: Nozzle flapper assembly, pneumatic relay, feedback lever, zero/span adjustment screw, aluminum housing, gauge ports
LED indicators
Not equipped
Hardware self-diagnosis
Visual inspection, nozzle flapper blockage check, air tightness test, zero/span calibration, valve stroke linearity test
Programming software
No dedicated software required

System compatibility
Matched with Fisher 1052,657,658 series pneumatic diaphragm actuators and globe sliding-stem control valves.
Function
3582G is pneumatic positioner manufactured by Fisher. It compares valve actual stem position with pneumatic setpoint signal. If deviation exists, nozzle-flapper changes back pressure, pneumatic relay amplifies signal to adjust actuator air chamber pressure. It eliminates valve stem friction and process load disturbance to improve positioning accuracy. Dirty nozzle or relay wear will cause oscillation, calibration failure and slow response.
Installation
Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Mount 3582G on valve yoke and connect feedback linkage to valve stem. Hook up instrument air supply, input signal tubing and actuator output tubing. Adjust zero and span, select direct/reverse action, perform air tightness and full stroke test.
Interface
Pneumatic supply port, signal input port, actuator output port, mechanical feedback linkage connected to valve stem, no LED indicators on 3582G.
Diagnostic
Valve oscillation: Dirty nozzle or unstable relay performance. Position drift: Feedback linkage loose or incorrect zero/span. Slow valve response: Relay internal blockage or diaphragm fatigue. Calibration failure: Nozzle-flapper gap misadjustment.
