EATON CROUSE-HINDS FSQC3430 Explosion Proof Receptacle Unit

Module Feature

FSQC3430 belongs to EATON Crouse-Hinds Arktite series explosion-proof receptacle. Rated 30A, 4-pole 3-wire configuration. Heavy-duty cast aluminum housing with corrosion-resistant coating. The Arktite interlock mechanism prevents opening under live power condition, eliminates arc exposure risk. Approved for Class I Division 1 Group C/D, Class II Division 1 Group F/G hazardous classified locations. Built-in spring loaded protective dust cap. Widely used for portable equipment power connection in chemical plants, paint booths, grain processing and other explosive gas/dust sites.

Working principle

The mechanical interlock structure ensures the receptacle cover cannot be opened when live. When plug is inserted and locked, internal contacts connect power. Flame path design contains internal electric arcs inside enclosure and prevents ignition of surrounding flammable medium. Spring cap automatically covers socket after plug removal to block dust and moisture.

Hardware self-diagnosis

Installation

Follow strict hazardous area safety procedure before handling.Mount unit firmly on solid wall via mounting lugs.Connect power cable inside explosion-proof terminal chamber,torque terminal box bolts to maintain flame path integrity.Test mechanical interlock function before energizing.

Diagnostic

Interlock failure:cannot lock or unlock,must decommission immediately for safety. Poor contact:overheating at contact point,scorching marks. Housing damage:cracked casting will lose explosion-proof certification.
