Module Feature

SIEB & MEYER MOTOR-SYSTEM is a complete servo motor assembly. It consists of servo motor body, built-in high-resolution encoder, power connector, feedback connector and mounting accessories. Optimized magnetic design provides high torque density, low cogging torque and stable speed performance. Matches perfectly with SIEB & MEYER rack servo drive series. Widely used for high-precision positioning axes in CNC machine tools, semiconductor processing equipment and automation production lines.

Working principle

The stator winding generates rotating magnetic field driven by three-phase variable frequency power from servo power module. The magnetic field pulls the rotor to rotate, converting electrical energy into mechanical rotary motion. The integrated encoder continuously feeds back rotor position and speed to axis control board to realize closed-loop position, speed and torque control.

Onboard components

Permanent magnet rotor, stator winding, high-resolution rotary encoder, motor housing, bearings, power connector, encoder feedback connector, mounting flange, seal parts.

LED indicators

No onboard LED indicators, fault status is displayed on matched servo drive module.

Hardware self-diagnosis

Visual inspection of motor housing, shaft, connectors and cable ports; motor winding resistance & insulation test; encoder signal inspection; check bearing noise and shaft runout.

Programming software

SIEB & MEYER commissioning software for motor parameter setup, auto-tuning and fault monitoring.

Function

MOTOR-SYSTEM servo motor assembly manufactured by SIEB & MEYER. It converts three-phase electrical power into mechanical rotation to achieve precise positioning. Overload, overheating, encoder failure or winding insulation damage will trigger drive alarm and stop motion. It is the mechanical power execution unit of SIEB & MEYER servo system.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off all drive power completely. Mount motor via flange, align coupling and fix securely. Connect motor power cable and encoder feedback cable to servo rack. Set motor parameters and perform servo auto-tuning via SIEB & MEYER commissioning software, test rotation and positioning before formal operation.

Diagnostic

Motor no rotation: Missing drive power, wrong wiring or encoder fault. Overload alarm: Mechanical jam, excessive load or bearing damage. Encoder fault: Damaged feedback cable or encoder failure. Motor overheat: Continuous heavy load or insufficient cooling. Abnormal noise: Bearing wear, misalignment or mechanical resonance.
